The beginning of the twentieth century marked a true explosion in the arts - new forms, manifestos, unprecedented freedom, decadence. All areas, painting, theater and music are experiencing an unprecedented rise. Photography and cinema, appear as new artforms and flourish. The theater is seething with reformations, with great names of Gordon Craig, Antonin Artaud, Konstantin Stanislavsky, Jacques Copeaux emerging. New dramaturgy - Ibsen, Maeterlinck, Hauptmann, Chekhov. Everyone advocates for change in the theatre: a rejection of the past, a reform, a search for new depths, a new psychological game, new symbolism.
Two women are shining in the stage spotlight at this exact time, two great actresses - Sarah Bernhardt and Eleonora Duse - a sophisticated Frenchwoman and a passionate Italian. Europe is mesmerized by their rivalry. Sarah Bernard perfects the performance of her characters - every look, gesture and sigh; Eleanora advocates for a new approach to acting - simple, humanly, lacking theatrical shine and tinsel. Eleonora is passionately in love with a young playwright - Gabriele D'Anunzio and Sarah is ready to do anything not to lose the crown of the first actress in the world. Their lives were dedicated to the theater, to the point of burning out on stage and in life. If they had a chance to have a frank discussion, what would that conversation be like? Theatre33 presents the play "Duet," which focuses on this imaginary meeting of the two Divas. June 3 and 4 at 7.30pm.
Начало двадцатого века стало настоящим взрывом в искусстве - новые формы, манифесты, невиданная свобода, декаданс... Все направления - живопись, театр и музыка переживают невиданный подъем. Зарождаются и развиваются новые формы - фотография и кино. Театр бурлит реформациями - великие имена: Гордон Крэг, Антонен Арто, Константин Станиславский, Жак Копо.... Новая драматургия - Ибсен, Метерлинк, Гауптман, Чехов. Все ратуют за изменения в театре, отказ от прошлого, реформацию, поиск новых глубин, новой психологической игры, нового символизма.
Именно в это время блистают на подмостках две женщины, две великие актрисы - Сара Бернар и Элеонора Дузе - утонченная француженка и страстная итальянка. Европа захвачена их соперничеством. Сара Бернар, доведшая исполнение роли до совершенства: каждый взгляд, жест и вздох и Элеонора, предлагающая новый способ игры - простой, человеческий, без театрального блеска и мишуры. Элеонора, страстно влюбленная в молодого драматурга - Габриеле Д'Анунцио и Сара, готовая на все, чтобы не потерять корону первой актрисы мира. Они жили, сжигая себя на сцене и в жизни. Если бы у них был шанс откровенно поговорить, какой могла бы быть эта беседа? Именно такая воображаемая встреча лежит в основе пьесы "Дуэт" - 3 и 4 июня в 7.30рм на сцене нашего театра.
