As we switch gears towards the 2022-2023 season in our new facility, we can’t help but reflect back on the productions of this past season. While it was packed with challenges brought on by the lingering pandemic, economic and global issues, we have welcomed and entertained audiences at 124 shows. We resumed full programming and premiered “39 steps, “The Maids,” “A Present,” and “Monsieur Ibrahim and the flowers of Koran.” Our advanced youth group, in collaboration with several adult helpers, brought to life the colorful prose of Ivan Bunin in "A Cold Autumn." We also brought back past season favorites that received limited exposure due to capacity restrictions: “A Friendly Family,” “The True Story of Froken Hildrud Bock,” “Double Base,” “My mother and Music,” and “Duet.”
Our youth groups, which expanded from two to four classes, also had a productive year. The second year and advanced group teens showcased the classic “The Servant of Two Masters” and a first for Theatre33, an interactive murder mystery “Café Murder.” As part of our education program, we introduced thematic theatrical quests for younger children and explored ancient Greece, haunted theater, early American history, Hogwarts, art history and forensics, dinosaurs, astronomy and treasure hunting.
For our youngest viewers, we performed “The Traveling Frog,” “The tale of Wolf and Fox,” the holiday play “The Silver key,” “Masha and the Bear,” “Little Straw Bull,” “Tillimillitriamdia,” and “Little Goat who could count.” The Little Plays were also enjoyed at a growing number of daycare centers in the area.
To give back to the community, we initiated a new series of free events. Our poetry evenings were a big success and will stay on as a permanent season offering. We held four “Community Hub” craft gatherings for families. With the support of StateFarm Insurance, we began a new annual family Easter event at a park, “Let’s Play,” which was held at Crossroads this year and welcomed over 300 visitors. The highlight of community projects was the launch of rehearsals for "Ronia, the Robber's Daughter" - a play where everyone is welcome. It will premier in October of 2022.

Мы с нетерпением ждем нового сезона и, оглядываясь назад, анализируем прошлый. Последние пару лет были трудными для всех, но для бизнесов, требующих личного присутствия-особенно. Итак, оправившись от ковидных ограничений(или почти оправившись) мы сыграли несколько премьер: фарс "39 ступеней", драму абсурда-"Служанки", совместный спектакль молодежной и основной труппы "Холодная осень", по произведениям И. Бунина, новогоднюю комедию "Подарочек" и моно спектакль "Месье Ибрагим и цветы Корана". Восстановили и показали спектакли прошлых лет-моноспектакли "Контрабас" и "Подлинная история Фрекен Бок", зажигательную комедию "Играем в дружную семью", инсценизацию прозы М. Цветаевой "Моя мать и музыка" и драму о соперничестве двух театральных див "Дуэт". Наши подростки порадовали нас классическим "Слугой двух господ" и загадочным "Cafe Murder". Ну и как всегда- сказки для малышей и новогодние представления.
Кроме того, всегда приятно попробовать что-то новое. В прошлом сезоне это оказались квесты для детей, вечера вина и поэзии, большой пасхальный праздник в парке и новый, совершенно новый для нас опыт-открытый проект, в котором можно было участвовать всем, независимо от возраста и подготовки- "Рони, дочь разбойника"(премьера в октябре 2022го года.)
Когда начинаешь писать обо всех проектах за сезон, то сразу видно, сколько труда, сил и времени затратили все волонтеры театра, и конечно же все это не смогло бы осуществиться без вас, дорогие зрители, без вашей поддержки, добрых слов и аплодисментов. Мы с нетерпением ждем новых встреч с вами, в новом зале, который, хоть и будет (после продолжительных боев с бюрократией) совсем немного больше нашего нынешнего, но гораздо удобнее для зрителей и классов.
