Meet the Cast: Leia – The Little Prince

For Leia, theatre is about much more than stepping into the spotlight—it’s about telling meaningful stories, making memories with friends, and discovering new perspectives. At 15 years old, Leia has been part of the Theatre33 family for several years and takes on multiple roles in The Little Prince, including the Lamp Lighter, Fox, Roses, and several ensemble characters. As Theatre33 prepares to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, we sat down with Leia to learn more about her theatre journey, what inspires her, and why she believes everyone should experience this timeless story.

A Conversation with Leia

Tell us a little about yourself.

I like to run cross country and I like crafting and doing art projects. I also like to shop, read and spend time with friends.

How long have you been involved with Theatre33?

I’ve been with Theatre33 for about 3–5 years.

Who do you play in The Little Prince?

I play the Lamp Lighter, the Fox, the Roses, and several ensemble roles throughout the show.

What is your favorite thing about performing?

My favorite part of performing is getting to talk with my friends backstage and also the relief of nailing my performance. I also love it when the audience laughs at my lines

What is one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I used to do competitive rhythmic gymnastics for 8-9 years.

What do you love most about your character?

I like how it’s different compared to what I usually do.

What has been the biggest challenge in preparing for this role?

It’s very confusing to understand what’s going on at times.

Do you have a favorite scene in the show?

My favorite scene is the roses scene.

If you could describe The Little Prince in three words, what would they be?

Unique. Thought-provoking. Perspective.

How does performing make you feel?

Fulfilled.

The best thing about Theatre33 is…

Community.

How do you feel about performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe?

I’m very excited! It’s an incredible opportunity.

What are you most excited about for the trip?

Performing, exploring Edinburgh, spending time with my friends, and watching other Fringe performances.

Have you traveled internationally before?

Yes! I’ve visited Canada, Mexico, and several countries in Europe.

When you think about Edinburgh, what do you imagine?

New experiences.

What do you hope audiences remember about The Little Prince?

The lesson the play teaches you.

If someone is thinking about coming to see The Little Prince, what would you tell them?

“It is nothing like you imagine, but it’s so important to go see it, you will learn a good lesson.”
